Why Brazil's Metalworking Industry Is on Our Horizon
Brazil's metal fabrication market is growing fast, and we wanted to see it for ourselves, so we packed up our CNC routers and aheaded to Sao Paulo for the Future Print show.
We’ve been exhibiting at Fabtech in the US and Mexico for what feels like forever -- it’s basically our second home. But this year, we decided to pack our bags and head down to Brazil for the Future Print show in São Paulo. And honestly? It was a fantastic call.
We started doing machinery business since 1992, when we only produced entry-level engraving machines. We started with CNC routers for woodworking, but over the years, we’ve grown into a full metalworking solution provider. We brought a few of our TD-1325 CNC routers to the show, and the feedback was really solid. People were genuinely impressed with their performance and accuracy.
The real takeaway, however, wasn't just about our machines, it was about the market itself. Brazil is showing strong momentum. It feels like there’s a major push happening in metal fabrication down here. The market is growing, and everyone is looking for efficient ways to process sheet metal.
What really caught our eye was the range of industries that need equipment like ours. It’s not just one thing. We chatted with guys doing small cabinet shops, and they were looking for the kind of precision you get with a good CNC router for their custom woodworking. But we also spoke to some heavy hitters involved in shipbuilding and heavy engineering. Those guys are working with enormous cutting machines and looking for serious automation. There’s even demand from the elevator manufacturing industry, which requires incredibly precise sheet metal fabrication for doors and components.
The advertising and signage sector also stands out as a major driver of demand. Brazil loves big, bold advertising. The Future Print show is packed with companies making everything from giant billboards to intricate lettering. They need versatile tools like our CCD routers and laser cutters to handle materials like acrylic, MDF, and aluminum sheets. The advertising and signage industry is another big one. So, yeah, the trip was a huge success. We got to see a different side of the industry. It’s a reminder that while we love our regular stops at Fabtech, there’s a whole world out there hungry for technology. We’re definitely looking forward to seeing our new Brazilian friends again -- whether it’s back in Brazil or when they visit us at Fabtech in Las Vegas this October!
