Day 3 at FABTECH 2026 Las Vegas: Fabricators Keep Coming Back to the SUDA Booth

Fabtech Gateway

The final day of FABTECH 2026 at the Las Vegas Convention Center did not slow down one bit. Our booth stayed packed from open to close, and what really caught our eye was how many husband-and-wife teams kept circling back. They stood by the machines, asked about power options and table sizes, and came back two or three times before lunch.

One visitor made the whole afternoon. A young guy from Sweden picked up our handheld laser welder and would not put it down. He runs a decent-sized steel frame shop in Arizona, cutting and welding every day. His first metal fabrication show, and he was genuinely surprised to find so many capable Chinese manufacturers under one roof. Back home he has a few brands to choose from, but they only sell finished machines off the shelf. Custom configs either do not exist or cost a fortune and take months. He came to Vegas hoping to buy a unit and fly it home himself, and our machine checked his boxes. What really floored him came later, when he read our company profile. We run close to 75 acres of plant space, we have been building machines for 34 years, and the catalog covers buy fiber laser cutting machine, CNC woodworking routers, handheld laser welders, press brakes and more.

Fabtech Gift Peking Opera mask

Two buyers went further than talk. Both put down deposits right on the exhibition, and we handed them our gift pack on the spot. Inside they got the usual show souvenirs and the samples we cut for them, plus something most of them had never seen before, a Peking opera mask figurine. It turned out to be the best conversation starter of the week.

Big laser machines are not allowed to run inside the hall for safety reasons, so we planned ahead. Every demo request got answered one of two ways. We pulled up running footage on an iPad, or we video-called our technicians back at the factory for a live walk-through. The time difference meant those calls only worked in the afternoon here, which is morning over there.

A quick note on why this market feels so hot right now. US fabricators are still working through the Section 232 tariff reset, with derivative products rated at 15, 25 or 50% depending on metal content and some industrial equipment getting temporary relief through 2027. Hot-rolled coil has been holding above eleven hundred dollars a ton, service-center inventories are thin, and shops are being pushed to squeeze more out of existing equipment. At the same time the skilled welder shortage keeps biting, which is why handheld laser welding keeps stealing floor time at shows like this. North America is now the fastest-growing region for laser welding equipment.

This was hardly our first rodeo at FABTECH. We were in Chicago in September 2025, in Orlando in October 2024, and we did not skip the Mexico edition this past May. North America is where we are putting our weight, and shows like FABTECH and ISA sit right in the middle of that plan. The Vegas crew was led by sales managers John Tang and Snail Hu with two technicians on the ground. After the hall closes, the work does not stop either. We have a long list of service visits lined up along the West Coast.
